Hi, my name is Florence. I am a counsellor and doodle enthusiast. I enjoy watching my children draw, doodle and colour in. More so, I am interested in the process of doing this creative activity. What happens when we do a doodle or colour in? How can we explore these thoughts and feelings?
Drawing and colouring are not just for kids, adult colouring and doodling books have exploded into popularity in recent years.
Mindful colouring helps to boost adult creativity and assist with reducing stress and anxiety. Research in art therapy (Malchiodi, 2012) and therapeutic imagery (Withers, 2006) shows that drawing can help people to focus and express emotions which may be too confronting, elusive and complex to verbalise.

Mindful Doodles requires no artistic talent or drawing skill. It will offer participants a hands-on experience using colouring and doodling as a tool to bring about self-awareness. By being mindful of what you are doing, you are accessing resourceful parts of self to move towards positive change. Would you like to participate in a session and provide some feedback? I run individual and group sessions. View sessions |
